The Leibniz-Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) is an internationally recognized research centre with a focus on small molecules in plants, including secondary metabolites and hormones. This covers a wide range of topics including responses of plants to their environment, development, enzyme discovery, metabolic engineering and bioactivity screening.
The IPB has 4 Departments for a total of 150 employees, from which on average 40 are PhD students. The Institute is a public foundation funded by the local state of Saxony-Anhalt and the federal state of Germany.
